Allen Associates is proud to be sponsoring the 15th annual Oxford Mail OX5 Run which is taking place on 26th March 2017, having raised a record £115k for Oxford Children’s Hospital earlier this year.

This will be the 9th year that Allen Associates has sponsored the five mile run (or walk) through the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace which usually attracts well over 1,000 people of all ages, united by sense of community and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Many Oxfordshire-based businesses are keen supporters of the OX5 Run, entering teams and doing their bit to fund-raise for the hospital. This year, Allen Associates Corporate Cup for the first business team over the finishing line was awarded to Siemens Magnet Technology based in Witney.

Plans are now underway for the OX5 Run 2017 which the organisers hope will be even bigger and better.

Kate Allen, Managing Director at Allen Associates, is keen to try and encourage more businesses to enter teams. Speaking about her own company’s experiences, she said: “This event is one we all look forward to. We have great fun during those dark wintery months between Christmas and Spring, getting fit and preparing for the run – even if most of us only manage a fast walk! It brings us all together and gives us a sense of shared purpose, helps to cement relationships and builds rapport.”

Kate continued: “I would like to try and encourage more businesses to get involved next year. This event is a great team building exercise and a real leveller. It’s a proven way to engage and motive staff. It gives everyone a sense of pride in the organisation they work for and feeds into the corporate social responsibility agenda. The HR benefits are clear, not to mention the opportunity to give something back to our local community by raising money for vital resources for our children’s hospital.”
