The role became available following an internal promotion, so the extra pair of hands was needed in terms of supporting the existing workflow. With 120 staff currently, we have used various job sites in the past as well.
While the need to fill the role wasn’t necessarily urgent, we had to take the time to make the right call – we absolutely weren’t looking to just fill a seat. Once the job description and recruitment advert were put together, we then needed someone quite quickly.
Generally, one of the biggest challenges we’ve faced with recruitment is the quality of the ‘fact finding’ from the Recruitment companies being used. Basically, identifying what our needs are and sending through matching Candidates. We’ve found that other agencies have somewhat of a scattergun approach and often didn’t meet the brief fully. We didn’t find that with Allen Associates.
Before we had Sinead in her role, these tasks were putting added pressure on the managerial staff, who weren’t able to do their jobs as quickly - the financial year end had just passed. We should have been able to dive straight in to those requirements, but couldn’t. Sinead has made it far easier to work through this backlog.
