Free PA and Administrative support available to Oxford businesses in May

Ambitious student PAs and executive assistants are looking for one week of unpaid work experience in Oxford from 22 to 26 May.

Oxford-based businesses are urged to come forward and offer a week of practical experience to these hard working students who are nearing the end of their one year Executive PA Diploma course at Oxford Media and Business School (OMBS).

Andrea Freeman, Principal at OMBS, one of the UK’s leading independent business and IT training colleges focused on executive PA skills, said: “Each year, we accept around 80 students on to our Executive PA Diploma course and as they near the end of their studies, they are required to complete one week of practical work experience. These students, who are mostly in their early 20s, are intelligent and well-equipped for the world of work. What they need is the opportunity to apply their PA and executive assistant skills in a real business environment.

“Unlike work experience placements for school pupils, our students already have the skills we know businesses want and need so they can hit the ground running and make a contribution, even if it is initially, just for a few days.”

Allen Associates is supporting OMBS’ appeal for work experience, having worked closely with the college for many years and recruited its current Registrar and PA to the Principal.

Kate Allen, managing director at Allen Associates, which places PA and administrators at all levels within businesses across Oxfordshire, said: “The calibre of students coming out of OMBS is top notch and we know from our previous involvement with the college that they are highly sought after when they graduate in July and start looking for permanent roles. We are pleased to do our bit to help OMBS students find the work placements they need to complete their training.”

Oxford Media & Business School’s industry-led PA course is fast becoming an alternative to university with students living in accommodation provided by the college and enjoying a busy life in Oxford during their year of study. Over the last 37 years, Oxford Media & Business School has earned an excellent reputation for high quality teaching, excellent student facilities and a proven track record of helping students find interesting roles in a wide range of sectors when they leave.

If any business feels they can benefit from having an OMBS student PA or executive assistant and can offer a one week work placement from 22 to 26 May 2017, they should contact the Principal Andrea Freeman on 01865 240963 or email andreaf@oxfordbusiness.co.uk
