We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic and growing finance team in the heart of Central Oxford. This role will play a pivotal part in managing the purchase and sales ledger processes, working closely with internal stakeholders, as well as liaising with students and external suppliers.
Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
- Manage supplier invoices, ensuring coding and authorisation compliance
- Process invoices, credit notes, payment runs, and remittance advices
- Perform monthly supplier reconciliations and handle VAT processes
- Address student fee queries, post invoices, and reconcile student accounts
- Maintain accurate cashbook records and complete monthly reconciliations

Accounts Assistant Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have previous experience in a similar position where you have been exposed to purchase ledger accounting tasks. Whilst this is an entry level position, it is vital that you can demonstrate basic finance and administrative skills. Part or fully qualified AAT, or part qualified ACCA/CIMA would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will be highly numerate and be excellent with communication and multi-tasking abilities. Intermediate to advanced levels of MS Office Excel would be a bonus, as well as some exposure to various accounting packages. Experience working in an education/college environment would be helpful.
Location
This position is based in Central Oxford (OX1). There is no onsite parking. This will be a 100% office based position, please ensure you are happy with this before applying.
