Are you an experienced HR Manager with experience of working within an education setting or with trade unions? Our client is seeking a HR Manager who thrives on implementing performance management strategy and engaging employees to add value and impact to their rapidly expanding business.

HR Manager

Are you an experienced HR Manager with experience of working within an education setting or with trade unions? Our client is seeking a HR Manager who thrives on implementing performance management strategy and engaging employees to add value and impact to their rapidly expanding business.

This is a unique school setting and the HR Manager will be at the sharp edge of education, dealing with safeguarding, capability, restructures and strategic HR plans and requires someone able to work in (and with previous experience of) a fast-paced and dynamic, heavily unionised environment. 

HR Manager Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

  • Focusing on recruiting exceptional talent for the business and ensuring all new employees have the appropriate level of induction plan in place.
  • Coordinating the business’s career development programme to ensure successful nurturing of each employee’s CPD needs.
  • Overseeing performance management and working with business leaders, unions and relevant associations to implement improvements where necessary.
  • Actively advocating employee engagement and wellbeing by developing, executing and monitoring relevant programmes.
  • Advising, guiding, reviewing and updating employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and ensuring safeguarding procedures are compliant and being practiced by employees consistently and working with designated agencies and leadership where required.
  • Providing strategic commercial HR insights as well as transactional HR to be an employer of choice and taking the organisation from good to great.

Our client is a rapidly expanding charity organisation, where their people and students are at the heart of everything they do.

HR Manager Experience

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable HR Management background within a fast-paced business environment, as well as experience of working within an education setting and/ or with trade unions. Although this is a HR generalist role, you will have proven experience of successfully working within talent management and development and have a vested interest in the development of others. You will be a self-starter who likes to collaborate with others, yet work autonomously as a standard. You will have experience of TUPE, restructures, employment law and employee relations supporting across the full employee lifecycle. You will have experience of managing D,E&I, governance, and have knowledge of VISAs, DBS and safeguarding and be able to manage databases and HRIS. You will be strategic and innovative, able to review areas such as capability and pay progression and be able to work in an agile environment at the sharp end of the education landscape. 

Location

This role is mostly office-based in HP22. 1 day a week from home is a possibility once settled into the role however a flexible working ethic is a must. Parking is available on-site.

This role is full-time, permanent.

37.5 hours per week.
