Record numbers turned out for our Zoom HR Hub in September to hear partners Malcolm Gregory and Kate Benefer from RWK Goodman in Oxford deliver their quarterly Employment Law Update.

The webinar included a poll of the 104 employers and HR professionals who attended. Below are their answers to questions on right to work checks, seasonal workers, long covid and gender critical beliefs which provide a useful insight.

Right to work checks

Have you been carrying out right to work checks remotely instead of seeing original documents and people face to face?
  • 62% - Yes
  • 38% - No
Are you aware that the right to do this ends on 30 September 2022?
  • 77% - Yes
  • 23% - No

Seasonal Workers

Do you have staff who work part of the year only, for example term-time or seasonal?
  • 31% - Yes
  • 68% - No
  • 1% - Don't know

Long covid

Do you have any employees suffering from long covid?
  • 38% - Yes
  • 42% - No
  • 20% - Don't know

Gender critical beliefs

Do you think gender critical beliefs (i.e. the view that someone’s sex is biological and immutable) is protected as a philosophical belief under discrimination legislation?
  • 82% - Yes
  • 4% - No
  • 14% - Depends
