OX5 RUN 2023 – save the date and sign up!

Allen Associates News

We are delighted to join Oxford Hospitals Charity in announcing the date of one of Oxfordshire’s biggest fundraisers, the OX5 RUN, on Sunday, 26th March 2023.

Allen Associates will be sponsoring the five-mile fun run, which is taking place in the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace, for the 14th year running.

Our Managing Director Kate Allen, pictured centre with hospital staff, said: “We love being involved in the OX5 RUN each year. This event is at the heart of the Oxfordshire community and is very special indeed. Whenever we visit the hospital, and meet young patients and hospital staff, it’s clear the difference that fundraising makes, and it just spurs us on to do more to support our local children’s hospital.”

All the money raised by the OX5 RUN goes towards improving equipment and care at Oxford Children’s Hospital, children’s ward at the Horton General Hospital and children’s critical and emergency areas across the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Most recently fundraising from the run has funded a brand-new Play Specialist role for Children’s Radiology, helping support the complex needs of young patients to have important medical scans, such as MRIs, while still awake. This new role means many more children can now avoid the need for a general anaesthetic whilst having scans, allowing them to get home much more quickly.

Sam Foster, Chief Nursing Officer for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the difference that the charity and the OX5 RUN have made to children’s services across the trust. I’ve run the OX5 RUN myself and it’s  always an inspiring event that has real meaning at it’s heart.”

Every year, the run sees families, individuals and businesses from across Oxfordshire and beyond sign up and run, jog or walk five miles around Blenheim Palace to support Oxford Children’s Hospital.

Sign up by 31 January 2023 to take advantage of the early bird special of £27 per adult entry. Children aged 10 to 17 can sign up for £15.
