Temporary Events Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for a proactive and enthusiastic Temporary Events Manager to join a mission-driven organisation in the education and technology sector, based near Wallingford.

This varied and fast-paced role will see you working closely with internal teams and external partners to plan and deliver a programme of engaging, high-impact events and experiences. The events you manage will support students in exploring career opportunities and building skills and confidence, while also helping employers connect with the right talent.

Starting as soon as possible, you will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 5:30pm.

Please note, this is a temporary position paid on a weekly PAYE basis. This role will start immediately, so sadly candidates with a lengthy notice period cannot be considered.

Temporary Events Manager Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver in-person, virtual, and hybrid events for students and educational partners.
  • Manage all event logistics, from booking venues and managing platforms to coordinating speakers and agendas.
  • Liaise with universities, schools, societies, and employers to ensure strong participation and engagement.
  • Oversee event communications, marketing assets, and landing pages to drive registrations and ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Collect and analyse feedback to improve event delivery and maintain a high Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and ensure consistency across processes and communications.
  • Support the wider team with reporting, budgeting, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance event formats and stay up to date with industry best practices.

Temporary Events Manager Requirements

  • Proven experience in delivering events or learning experiences (in-person and digital).
  • Strong creativity, with an eye for detail in event branding and design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – confident working with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Passion for supporting young people and promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to juggle multiple events and deadlines.
  • Experience with CRM systems and digital platforms is beneficial.
  • A collaborative team player who’s happy to get stuck in and travel occasionally for events.

Our client is located in Wallingford (OX10). There is onsite parking.
